Olle Jonsson


					As a farmer, he used to visit the local junkyards in search of spare parts. But he also came across fascinating objects in unique forms, shapes and structures. These fed his imagination and enabled him to visualize the sculptures he would eventually work on. To Olle Jonsson, scrap is an exciting artistic material.., not only because of its free, irregular shapes. For him scrap iron is as malleable as clayyou just heat it. Also, he feels that the earthen colours of scrap add beauty and character to the sculpture. The effect varies as the climate changes. In rainy weather the sculptures may turn brown.As the scrap dries, its colour gradually shifts into a range of mahogany, tan and golden shades.
